Early Childhood Education
The new early childhood program provided by the Omaha Schools Foundation will serve children ages 4-5 and will be available at Fullerton, Harrison, Picotte, Saddlebrook, and Standing Bear. Picotte has added a second classroom and is taking applications. There is a waiting list for Fullerton Elementary School.
The philosophy of the early childhood program will mirror that of the Omaha Public Schools District. It will be a parent-pay program. Currently we offer this wonderful preschool program at five sites: Fullerton, Harrison, Picotte, Saddlebrook, and Standing Bear. The program is full days with before and after school Kids Club. Creative Curriculum is used to provide the children with academic, social and emotional opportunities as they begin their learning journey. Please contact 531.299.0250 for enrollment information.
Picotte Elementary School and the Omaha Schools Foundation were excited to be able to expand the Parent Paid Pre-K program by adding a second room at Picotte for the 2016-2017 school year. If there are questions, they can be directed to: Mrs. Morgan at Omaha Schools Foundation 531.299.0250.
At Fullerton, Harrison, Picotte, Saddlebrook, and Standing Bear, Childcare will be provided by qualified professionals from 6:30 a.m. until the school day begins at 8:55 and from when the school day ends at 4:05 until 6 p.m.
The instructional day is from 8:55 a.m. to 4:05 p.m. and will be overseen by early childhood certificated teachers and paraprofessionals using “Creative Curriculum.”
First priority will be given to siblings of children at each school, second priority will be given to families in the home attendance area without siblings at the school, and third priority will be given to children outside of the home attendance area. Spots in each pre-Kindergarten classroom are limited. You must be pre-registered to attend. A random selection process will be used to fill available spaces.
